A story of passion and excellence

Frantoio Ferraro was founded in 1948, from the deep roots of an authentic agricultural tradition and a courageous life choice. It all began when grandfather Nicola, animated by the love for the land and for good oil, moved to Montechiaro, a green and sunny hilly hamlet in the municipality of Vico Equense, in the heart of the Sorrento Peninsula.

Here, he took over a farm with about two hectares of olive groves. The desire to work the olives harvested with his own hands led him to install a small artisanal oil mill: thus the first nucleus of the Ferraro Oil Mill was born.

In 1952, his son Vincenzo, sharing the same spirit and wanting to respond to the growing demands of local farmers, built a more modern plant, capable of greater production. For over twenty-six years, that oil mill became a point of reference for the entire agricultural community of the area: a place where the processing of oil was not just a profession, but a real collective ritual.

In 1978, after a life entirely dedicated to work and the satisfaction of his customers, Vincenzo decided to entrust the business to his children, certain of leaving a solid legacy. It was Nicola, in particular, who took up the baton, driven by the same passion as his grandfather and father.

With the support of his wife Pia and his family, in 1993 Nicola modernized the plant, while remaining faithful to the principles on which the mill had been founded: respect for the land, rigorous selection of raw materials and love for quality.

Today the Frantoio Ferraro is a consolidated reality, which looks to the future while keeping tradition alive. The olives are harvested by hand, carefully selected at the right degree of ripeness, under the careful control of experts. The processing takes place according to a continuous integral cold cycle system, which preserves the organoleptic properties of the oil and enhances its aroma, flavor and purity.

Each batch of oil is subjected to laboratory analysis to verify its acidity and peroxide level, to guarantee superior, constant and transparent quality.

The Ferraro Oil Mill is today much more than a place of production: it is a story that has been handed down for generations, made up of care, dedication and deep bond with one’s land.

Today the Frantoio Ferraro is led by Pia, who with passion and dedication carries on the path traced by Nicola, lovingly guarding his teachings and transforming them into a daily mission. At his side are his children, who grew up among the olive trees and the scent of freshly milled oil, and a small team of collaborators who have always shared the same values: respect for tradition, craftsmanship and love for their land. Together they carry out a work made up of experience, commitment and continuous search for quality, so that every drop of oil from Frantoio Ferraro tells the authentic story of Vico Equense and the Sorrento Peninsula.
