HISTORY

It all started when my grandfather Nicola moved to Montechiaro, a small hamlet of Vico Equense in the Campania region where he founded an agricultural business comprising of an olive grove of approximately two hectares, which then required a small olive mill to work his own olive.In 1952 his son Vincenzo decided to install a more modern olive mill to increase production and efficiency.  For 26 years this mill remained a constant focal point for his neighbouring farmer friends that shared with him the passion for quality olive oil.

In 1978, after a long life of hard work dedicated to his job and the satisfaction of of his customers, Vincenzo decided to pass the business on to his sons with the certainty of having continuity, and in particular to Nicola, who shared the same fundamental passion of producing good olive oil.

This is how Nicola pushed forward the business until in 1993 with his wife Pia, who shares his vision and continuity, modernized the olive presses in order to deliver and meet the increase in quality now demanded by his customers.

It is possible to book a guided tour of the mill and taste our oils in the utmost tranquillity and with the ability to try the different flavours.


Production

Today, the Frantoio Ferraro, continues to honour the traditions that brought to life this business and that ensure the quality of it’s product. Through careful selection and constant control in the field by experts, the olives are hand picked at the correct point of ripeness. The manipulation of the olives occurs in an integrated continuous cold press system that guarantees and values the essential organic characteristics of the oil. The oil is then subjected to analysis in order to assess the degree of acidity and amount of peroxides
